PFRDA was created by the Government of India on 23rd August 2003. Bill PFRDA, 2005 and is awaiting approval by Parliament. Pending the adoption of this law, the Government, through an executive order dated October 10th 2003, commissioned PFRDA to play a role regulating the sector pensions. PFRDA mandate is to develop and regulate the pensions in India.
The new pensions system reflects the Government’s efforts to find lasting solutions to the problem of providing adequate income for retirement. (more…)
