RAWALPINDI, Pakistan Chief of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid escaped unhurt in an apparent assassination attempt Monday in which two people were killed and three wounded.
Rasheed, who is contesting the bye-polls in Na-55 to be held later this month, was visiting one of his electoral offices in the city center of town when unknown gunmen aimed at him, said a spokesman for Haweli Lal residence.
Two persons present in the office died in the shootout while another three injured people were rushed to nearby hospital, reports said.
Rasheed narrowly escaped an attempt on his life and was unharmed, the spokesman said.
